~ San Francisco 2014 ~

I just want to let everyone know that I will be changing my blog url to manatales.blogspot.com very soon!

Over the Canada Day long weekend a close friend and I decided to jump onto a plane and flew down to San Francisco! (actually we jumped onto a bus first to get to said plane) It was a tough battle choosing between Montreal, which was our initial choice and San Francisco but the latter came out on top.

We stayed at the Prescott Hotel and quite enjoyed it. The hotel was clean and quiet so that we always got a decent nights sleep.

The "hardest" thing to do each day was to think of what to eat, so on the first day we ended up at the Cheesecake Factory in Macy's. This is the view off their outdoor patio, the restaurant was packed!

Since we believe ourselves to be young, healthy individuals we decided to walk down to Fisherman's Wharf  from our hotel area. Everyone we asked said it would take a while, like 45mins.....which we didn't think was too long at all, especially since we would be able to walk through their iconic Chinatown and Little Italy neighborhood.

I never imagined a Chinatown could be so busy or full of tourists. The architecture was also interesting.

After getting confused at some interesting 4 way intersections we finally made it!

Sadly we didn't make it to Alcatraz on this trip as all the tours were already booked up so here's a far away shot of it......or at least I hope that's Alcatraz...

Neither of us had any of this food pictured above as my friend had gotten sick prior to the trip and had a weak stomach and I was scared of getting hives (which I got once from a seafood salad). So we just looked from afar and snapped some photos.

I bought one of these mini cable cars as a souvenir for my parents....and yes I consumed most of the chocolate inside.

I've divided up the rest of my trip based on activities instead of the amount of days I spent there or else there would be an overwhelming amount of photos (which is what I used to do). One thing my friend and I weren't too prepared for was the amount of wind there was! While it was sunny, blue skies, not a cloud to be seen, it was windy as heck!!! I didn't wear any of the summer dresses I brought, in fact the only dress I wore was my maxi one.

~ iphone photos - May 2014 ~

Honestly I have no idea what happened to April but here are my May iphone photos. May was a really fun month and the weather was great! Honestly it's often hard for me to remember what I've done in the past month if I don't look at these photos and relive the memory.

I finally finished a small candle so I cleaned it out and put all my buttons in it! If anyone's curious it was Bath and Body Works - Black Pepper Bergamot.

Saw these adorable tea cup shot glasses <3 anyone="" at="" if="" interested.="" outfitters="" p="" s="" they="" urban="" were="">
I started writing a journal again and since I was in between semesters I was able to write quite a bit.

Teddy bear latte art from Blenz, I got my usual hot chocolate - half milk and half white.

The new Oui Paris Cafe finally opened and I was able to try it with a friend.

I ordered a hot chocolate and some type of cake. I was disappointed with both. When I asked the cashier what this particular cake was like she looked annoyed to answer my question and answered "it's just a little cake". The little cake turned out to be tasteless and very dry. The hot chocolate came in a generous size but sadly it was tasteless.

I'll wait a few weeks before returning to see if they've ironed some stuff out. I'm hoping for a more positive experience in the food as I really enjoy the space.
My friend had a savory crepe here that she said wasn't bad.

My friends pistachio macaron on the left and I was admiring the pretty pink salt!

Macarons from Faubourg. They were all yummy but I liked the passion fruit one the best.

My family and I had teppanyaki night and the fire was way too big and close to my liking!

These are so adorable!

Finally, I ended the month with Wicked! It was absolutely amazing and I would not hesitate to recommend anyone to see it!
